Why are we in business?

We are unapologetic dog lovers. We wanted to be “worthy” of the unconditional love our 3 Boxers showed us each and every day by giving them three of the most important things they need. Lots of exercise? Check. Shower them with love and affection? Check. Finding and feeding them the best possible food? … Well, this proved more of a challenge.
Tracking down the right dog food was a difficult task. We scrutinized manufacturers, studied ingredients and selected what we thought were the best possible “premium” brands to give our dogs. Unfortunately, none of the dozen or so we tried were tolerated well by our boxers. Jackson, our first, was particularly unhappy with his food and developed allergies to almost all of the “filler” ingredients commonly found in dog food.
Try as we might, we could not find a food that met our families (admittedly high) standards – one that had high quality ingredients, was easily digested, contained no grains, chemical preservatives and no fillers.
And then it dawned on us. Maybe we should only feed our dogs food we would eat ourselves. Using a diet of raw dog food and home made treats – to supplement their vitamins and nutrients – we slowly, but surely, noticed a marked inmprovement in our dogs general well being. They were more alert, more energetic, less “stressed”, and their coats became soft and silky!
Obviously, we were very excited about this. If our dogs are happy, we are happy! We were so impressed with the results of his new “home made” diet, we shared our experience with our friends and family, and as more and more people tried them and loved them it became harder for us to make enough for the demand. We thought that perhaps we were doing something meaningful and our dogs agreed! So, we made the decision to make our unique “home made” treats available to everyone and anyone who shares our devotion to dogs.
The result? After many many recipes and reworks, hundreds of hours of testing, securing a location for our kitchen and finally getting together all the required equipment, our first “Original Recipe” was baked and packaged for distribution in April of 2012.

Slobbers is a family run business Located in the Niagara region of Ontario Canada. At Slobbers, we believe dogs deserve the very best that we can give them – For dog’s sake! They are completely reliant on us to make the right decision(s) for them. And the single most important decision we can make for their health and happiness? Choose the best possible food.
Our mission is to provide you with a the highest quality dog treats using only the best possible ingredients. It’s simple for us. “We won’t make or sell anything we would not eat ourselves”.

Our treats are grain free! Every ingredient has been verified organic (ECOCERT Canada). Our treats are made without potentially harmful allergens, chemicals and pesticides. We are fully committed to the well being of your dog(s), and we are the only company in Canada to walk this extra mile “For Dog’s Sake!”. You know, It just makes sense to us – better, purer ingredients result in a better, purer product.
Each of our main ingredients were carefully selected from local sources (when possible) for the purpose of supplementing your dogs main diet. Our treats are not designed to replace your dogs primary nutrition source, but rather to supplement important nutrients, which could be lacking in their everyday food.

We make our treats in small, carefully monitored batches. Each batch is baked for a long time at low heat to maintain maximum nutrition. No mass producing going on here! Our baking process is just like anyone making cookies at home with exactly the same care and attention.
Our company is Eco-friendly on every level. By choosing organic, we all help protect the environment. The process of growing and harvesting in an organically certified method keeps our soil and water viable for future generations. We also compost and recycle with virtually no waste, and any broken or unusable treats are donated to local free range farms.
